Officer Michael Boswell honored for saving a life

Officer Michael Boswell, a 23-year veteran of the New Bedford Police Department assigned to station 3 in the North End, was honored on Oct. 14 for saving a life while on duty.
Officer Boswell was presented with a lifesaving award and pin by Chief Joseph C. Cordeiro for his actions which saved the life of a New Bedford resident on Oct. 5.
Chief Cordeiro praised Officer Boswell’s efforts. “The hallmark of a professional police officer is the courage and commitment to put the lives and safety of others before self-interest. This is the type of conduct I have come to expect as a standard from officers of the New Bedford Police Department. If not for your professionalism and care provided this day, the outcome would have been tragic.’’
Station 3 commander Capt. Thomas Flood and Lt. Paul Demers were on hand to help salute Officer Boswell.
Great job Officer Boswell!
