NBPD detectives take gun off street

Great work by the NBPD gang unit in finding a loaded firearm stolen from an area gun shop hidden under a boiler in the basement of a Sawyer Street home .
Detectives were patrolling the area Wednesday night when they observed a man who fled upon seeing a police cruiser. The detectives checked a nearby basement to see if the man had headed there.
The man was not located but detectives saw a sock covering what appeared to be a firearm hidden under a boiler. The gun was determined to be a loaded firearm stolen from a gun shop in Berkley.
Thanks to their efforts, there is one less gun on the city streets. Nice job by detectives Lorenzo Gonzalez and Gene Fortes and Sgt. Shain Ramos.
