88 children Shop with a Cop with 75 NBPD officers

88 children will have a merrier Christmas thanks to 75 members of the New Bedford Police Department who participated in Shop with a Cop.
The program, sponsored by the New Bedford Police Union, was supported by donations by the union, individual officers and Target. Each child was paired off with an officer to shop with. The shopping trip was followed by a pizza and ice cream lunch courtesy of Buster’s on Route 6.
The children rode on Tremblay buses and received a special police escort to Target, Buster’s and then back to the station.
By the end of the day wonderful friendships were made and we all were reminded of what the holidays are all about.
