Forum offers information, resources in opioid fight
Opioid addiction is a challenge faced not only by our community but in towns and cities across the country. A public forum titled “Opioids: Where to Get Help” will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 30 at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. State Rep. Antonio Cabral and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health are hosting the event, which will provide information, resources and support for people dealing with opioid addiction. A panel of experts, including New Bedford Police Chief Joseph Cordeiro, Rev. David Lima, and representatives from several local public health organizations, will present up-to-date information on the services available to combat addiction and will answer questions. We want people to walk away from the forum with the resources they need for themselves or their loved ones to move on the path towards recovery.
