Team Owen was formed in 2009 after Owen Simmons passed away at 23 months old from SMA. Owen is the son of Andy and Heather Simmons who are family friends and when he passed the team was formed to help raise money for research to help find a cure. The number one genetic killer of children, SMA causes muscles to atrophy and ultimately leads to death.
All money raised will go to The Gwendolyn Strong Foundation and SMA research. Since it started Team Owen has raised over $100,000.
