Two events set to observe Domestic Violence Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Women’s Center is hosting two events this month. Tonight _ Monday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. _ a proclamation will be read and a tree in front of City Hall will be lit in support of domestic violence victims and their families.

On Tuesday, Oct. 24, a candelight vigil will be held, starting at 6 p.m. at City Hall, followed by a silent procession to the Unitarian Church, Eighth and Union Street, where a program to remember domestic violence victims will be held, including the Clothesline Project.
