Portuguese American Police Association members deliver turkeys
We are grateful this Thanksgiving week to members of Portuguese American Police Association.
They visited Stop & Shop on Dartmouth Street Monday morning Nov. 19 to purchase turkeys and trimmings, at discounted advertised prices, for their Thanksgiving Turkey Drive. The turkeys were funded through association fund-raisers.
Association members picked up and distributed 110 turkeys and trimmings to families in need.
The turkeys were distributed to Casa da Saudade in New Bedford, and to the Sociadade Cultural Society club and Steppingstones of Fall River, where they will then be distributed to families who otherwise would not have a Thanksgiving dinner.
