NEW BEDFORD – Three people were arrested yesterday following two separate investigations that led to the seizure of an illegal firearm, crack cocaine, and other narcotics.

On Tuesday morning, May 13th, Det. Jonathan Miranda concluded an investigation into an illegally possessed firearm at 248 Chestnut Street. A search warrant was executed with the search target being CADEN BATISTA, 18.

Through the investigation, Det. Miranda learned that BATISTA had a warrant for violating his probation. The Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (SEMLEC) SWAT team was used to gain entry into his home.
