NBPD’s New SROs
We are proud to announce two new School Resource Officers at our schools.
Officer Kyle Cabral has been with the NBPD since 2014, and recently began his assignment at New Bedford High School alongside SRO Ryan Bland. Becoming an SRO has been his goal from the start. “It will allow me to be directly involved in shaping the city’s future in a meaningful way,” he shared. He looks forward to celebrating student success and helping create a safe, positive environment where students can learn and grow, while also strengthening trust between police, families, and the community.
Officer Yesenia Miranda-Santiago has served with the NBPD for 13 years and recently began her assignment at Roosevelt Middle School — Go Raptors! Becoming an SRO has been her dream for the past decade. She shared that it will give her the chance to make a difference in young people’s lives by helping them feel safe, encouraging them to succeed, and being someone they can count on every day. She looks forward to supporting students in the classroom, at activities and events, and through programs that promote safety while showing students they are valued and supported.
Congratulations and good luck!
