West End Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking

NEW BEDFORD – On Wednesday, April 30th, detectives concluded an investigation into a cocaine distribution service being operated out of 159 COURT STREET. A search warrant was executed with the target being TYRELL THOMAS, 22.

While in his vehicle, detectives initiated a traffic stop and found three plastic bags containing 72 grams of crack cocaine on THOMAS. As a result of the search that followed in his home, detectives located 60.6 grams of crack cocaine, 50 grams of suspected fentanyl, oxycodone and Percocet tablets, an assortment of blue tablets, a digital scale, a 6 round .30 ammunition magazine, narcotics packaging, and $11,541 in US currency which was seized as a result of drug proceeds.

THOMAS was arrested and charged with trafficking in 100 grams or more of cocaine, trafficking in 36 grams or more of fentanyl, and possession to distribute a class B drug.

The arresting officer was Det. Nathan Almeida.
