Traffic Stop Leads to Gun Seizure and Arrest
New Bedford, MA — Patrol officers have arrested a Brockton man following a traffic stop in the south end.
On May 4th, during the early evening hours, Ofc. Alan Kubik was on patrol in the area of the Blue Meadows housing development when he observed a vehicle with heavily tinted windows. Ofc. Kubik followed the vehicle as it traveled easterly on Rockdale Avenue and stopped in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot.
There were two occupants in the vehicle, one of whom was a passenger identified as Mr. JAZZIAH GRISSET-WATSON, 20, of Pine Grove in Brockton.
As a result of the investigation that followed, Ofc. Kubik found JAZZIAH to be in possession of a loaded, 40-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun for which he did not have a license. JAZZIAH was placed under arrest and charged with a variety of offenses including unlicensed possession of a high-capacity firearm and ammunition. The operator was cited for excessive tint on the windows and allowed to leave the scene.
