Drugs and Guns Found During Pleasant Street Drug Raid

New Bedford, MA — Narcotics detectives have placed a local man under arrest following a raid last Friday.

On August 2, Det. Matthew Couture concluded his investigation into narcotics being distributed out of 1181 Pleasant St., #3.  The target of the investigation was 30-year-old ISHMAEL MAHMOUD.

As a result of a search warrant execution at the apartment, MAHMOUD was found to be in possession of over 11 grams of fentanyl, 3.4 grams of cocaine, over 33 grams of methamphetamine, and suboxone strips.  Items used in the processing and preparation of narcotics for street-level sales were found including cutting agents, digital scales, and packaging materials. MAHMOUD was also found to be in possession of a loaded Tristar .45 caliber pistol and a loaded Smith & Wesson .38 revolver.

MAHMOUD has a previous conviction for firearm possession stemming from a case in 2016.  He now stands charged with numerous serious offenses, including two counts of firearms possession along with ammunition, trafficking in excess of 10 grams of fentanyl, and possession with intent to distribute several classes of narcotics.

$366 in cash was also seized as a result of the nature of his charges.
