Two Men Arrested for Gun and Drug Charges Following Raid

New Bedford, MA — On Monday, Jan. 13th, detectives concluded their investigation into a fentanyl distribution being operated out of 192 Belleville Road APT. #1E with a search warrant. The target of the investigation was ALEXANDER SEARS, 39, and JOSE LACEN, 25.

As a result of the search that followed, detectives seized 141.6 grams of cocaine, 4.9 grams of fentanyl, a Masterpiece Arms 9mm pistol loaded with 18 rounds of 9mm ammo, and a Taurus 9mm pistol loaded with eight rounds of 9mm ammo. Detectives also found a digital scale, a calibration weight, narcotics packaging, and $1,701 that were seized as a result of the nature of the charges.

LACEN was charged with trafficking 100 grams or more of cocaine, unlawful possession of a large-capacity firearm, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

SEARS was charged with possession with intent to distribute a class A drug.
